"Weeping at the Wheel!" A Timely Word for All of Us

I had a dream on February 12th, 2023 and I believe this word is an invitation for all of us.

In the dream, I was looking out over an RV park and my eye was drawn to an RV spot, but instead of it being a regular RV, it was a big yellow school bus. The side of the bus was opened up so that I could see inside. As I looked inside, I saw by the steering wheel was not a regular bus driver's seat. Instead there was a bed covered in white sheets and covers, and on top of the white covers was a woman in a kneeling posture, and she had her hands on the bed and her mouth was open wide in travail.

I immediately woke up and heard “WEEPING AT THE WHEEL”.

There was something very special about this dream. Without even fully knowing what it meant, it resonated deeply with me. When I went back to sleep, I was walking on a sidewalk, and I saw and heard an old radio. At first it sounded kind of distorted and just like radio chatter. I couldn’t distinguish anything being said, but all of a sudden in a very clear voice on the radio, I heard a woman say, “WEEPING AT THE WHEEL.”

In the dream, I just about jumped out of my skin. I could NOT believe what I was hearing on the radio. The dream ended with talking to two other people and they were hearing the exact same thing: WEEPING AT THE WHEEL. There was this sense of expectancy and wonder that this was a theme that God was clearly talking about.

A Word for Families

The dream takes place in an RV park and an RV is a picture of family going somewhere together. This is really such a beautiful picture of what God is doing in this time. There are so many who feel like, “I want to do God's will together as a family, but I have no idea how to do that.”

God is releasing wisdom for integration, where before you didn't really know, “How do I bring my family into this? How do we do this? What does this look like in my marriage? What does it look like for us to step out on the word of the Lord as a family?”

I declare over you that God is releasing wisdom, frameworks and blueprints within your family life that is going to usher in, allow and maximize the work of the Holy Spirit in your family to get everybody on the same page.

These verses from Malachi 4 have been on “repeat” in our family for some time:

“Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to the fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6

This is the heart of God. He’s restoring the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. There are going to be unprecedented family breakthroughs as the hearts of mothers and fathers turn to the children and God will show you what that looks like in your family and in your life.

The School of the Holy Spirit

In this dream, I'm looking into the side of a school bus. We are in the school of the Holy Spirit. I want to encourage you, God is not looking for experts. He is welcoming us back to wonder and awe. He is welcoming us back to unabashed childlikeness.

You may feel like in this season you are out of your depth. Maybe it’s felt difficult to “get your bearings”. The things that used to work don't seem to be working and it's because the templates that have worked in the past will not work in future seasons. That can be a fearful thing, or it can be an invitation to adventure. And I want encourage you in the spirit of sonship, it is an invitation to adventure. It’s an invitation to complete reliance upon the Father, to walk with him in the garden like Adam and Eve did. What a joy it is to be in the school of the Holy Spirit.

Our First Love Call to Purity

You'll remember that in the dream, the woman was on a bed that was covered in white sheets. This bed represents purity and intimacy with God.

God is purifying his bride. (Ephesians 5:25-27) Maybe you've had areas in your life that you thought were fine or you thought were whole and the Holy Spirit has been bringing them up to the surface. Or maybe you just thought it was the enemy attacking you, but God is bringing to the surface. Just like when silver or gold are refined and the dross rises to the surface, He brings that up so that we can be free from it because it's our not our identity in Christ. We know the blood of Jesus was poured out so that we could be free from sin and be carriers of the glory of God. This is a gift to us. Repentance is a gift. (Acts 11:18, 2 Timothy 2:25, Acts 3:19-21)

Those who stay in the school of the Holy Spirit and respond to the loving discipline of the Father are going be those that God can entrust greater influence with - whether your sphere is your family, your neighborhood, your workplace, your school, or your region. (Hebrews 12:5b-6, Luke 16:1-12)

The bed is the place of intimacy and God is returning us, his bride, to our first love.

In Revelation 2:2-5 when the Lord is addressing the church in Ephesus, he talks about how they've persevered and they've kept the faith but then he implores them and says, “But you've forgotten one thing. You've forsaken your first love.” And God is calling us back to our first love.

If this word about returning to your first love resonates with you, I encourage you to meet with God. Just pour out your heart before him. Tell him you're hungry for him. If you don't feel hungry, tell him that you want to be hungry for him. Ask him, “God, what is your heart for me?” I promise you, there is nothing that God wants more than to walk with you intimately.

“Weeping at the Wheel”

Two times in the dream, I heard “WEEPING AT THE WHEEL”. God is releasing strength and second wind to those who have stayed on the potter's wheel.

I noticed in the dream that this woman was not holding onto the steering wheel. She had her hands on the bed and she is not thinking as one who wants to take the helm and control things herself, but as one who is submitted to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

She was fully given over in travail in this ancient birthing position, and God is looking for birthers. I felt like God said, “There are many workers but not many birthers.”

This isn't about men versus women. This is an invitation for all of us. In the same way women are called sons of God in scripture, men are also birthing things in the earth in the spirit.

The reason this is so significant is because where we stand in history is going to impact generations. God is raising up those who will not abort the process of what He is doing in them, the incubation period of what it means to bring a promise, a vision, a word into fruition and into maturity.

God is raising up sons and daughters who will live by the word of the Lord. Matthew 4:4 says, “Man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that precedes from the mouth of God.” To be one who says, “Yes Lord, I'm willing to birth that thing. Yes God, I'm willing to make myself available to be a carrier of your heart.”

There's something about being with child that will rearrange us, how we eat and really our whole life. Even the growth of a baby on the inside of a mother rearranges her organs to some extent. Things get really crowded and moved around and many of you have felt this, not in body as much as the general stretch of this season as your heart tries to process all that is happening and being rearranged in this season.

But I feel like God is saying, “You're being rearranged for what you're birthing.” I feel like that is what God is saying to those who feel like they haven't seen the fruit of their labors in hiddenness. For some, it's thrusted you into a place of anxiety, but I hear God is saying, “Lock eyes with me. Lock eyes with me.” Everything you need about direction, about the grace of God and the wisdom of God for the moment you're living in is found in his gaze. God is asking us to yield to him the paradigm that this is all about getting from point A to point B.

Our portion is so much more. Jesus Himself is our Great Reward.

We are those who “with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

I declare that over you. You're going from glory to glory, from strength to strength, from faith to faith as you behold the glory of the Lord. (Romans 1:17, Psalm 84:7)

As you behold Jesus, don't be afraid to surrender your plans. Don't be afraid to lay it out all on the table before him. God is releasing clarity to those who would dare to take their plans and the blueprints that they feel that God has even given them, and to lay them on the altar and invite God to consume it with fire. There is clarity and strength coming in your surrender. (Proverbs 16:9, Luke 22:41-43, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15) He’s worthy of everything, even if it’s the very thing he gave us.

May we be those who yield to the rearranging and may our unconditional surrender win for Him the reward of His suffering.

God, I thank you Lord, that you're breaking off discouragement and that you God are bringing a resounding clarity, a resounding burning word and vision in their hearts as they walk an intimacy with you and surrender and yield to you as a good, good Father. Lord, I bless them to be childlike. Lord, I ask that you establish them as they walk and abide in you, as they stay on the Potter’s wheel. (Jeremiah 18:6)

I pray that whatever season you're in today that you would be filled with the joy of the Lord, which is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10), that you would find your footing in the heart of God and that you would be transformed in beholding him as a friend of God.
