"Tectonic Shifts Are Coming"

On 10/10/23 in worship, the Lord’s voice boomed in my spirit, “TECTONIC SHIFTS ARE COMING.”

I felt those words deep as a groaning intercession stirred in my spirit. As I unpack what the Lord showed me, let’s remember that when God speaks, He doesn’t just give information. He releases revelation with wisdom for a right response in us that will partner with His purposes in the earth. In other words, fear or trepidation has no place here. God is releasing divine clarity and strategy so that we can navigate the coming days as the pure and victorious Bride He’s called us to be.

First let’s look at what a tectonic shift means in the natural then we’ll explore the word of the Lord through the lens of His intention and heart.

The earth’s crust is made up of plates. When these tectonic plates shift, they can rub up against each other causing changes to the landscape through slow change or when there is great pressure or shifting, earthquakes will literally cause the earth’s crust in an area to buckle and shake.

Tectonic Shifts Manifesting in Two Ways

There are two key areas where these tectonic shifts will unfold. But they are absolutely connected. (You can read more about the connection between the visible and invisible realms in Hebrews 11, Romans 8 and many other places in the Bible.)

Some of this will be no surprise to you as some of these tremors, so to speak, have already started. However, I sense that what we will see will be unparalleled to what most ever imagined.

God, give us eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to understand. We stand in your Love as those covered by the blood of Jesus and we refuse to come into fear’s grasp when you’ve promised to lead us in triumph. God, release actionable revelation within every heart reading this, that they would so clearly see where you are wanting to bring fortification so they can cooperate with Your Spirit’s work in and through them, far exceedingly above and beyond anything they can think or imagine. In Jesus name.

Spiritual & Societal Shifts

We are entering a time of rapid change that I feel the world has never seen. This will be seen and experienced in every aspect of society and mirrors the radical rearranging God is doing spiritually as well as the enemy’s attempts to thwart God’s purposes.

These changes will be felt in the church at large as God purifies His bride and brings her into a new day of simple devotion to Jesus and radical consecration to extend His kingdom. The glory of God will be poured out with unprecedented levels of miracles, signs and wonders and an increase of the fear of the Lord.

Unprecedented shifts will happen culturally, socio-politically and in every major sphere and mountain of influence. Many will say, “I have no grid for this.” What they see unfolding is something they would have never suspected in their lifetime. And yet, we’re here for such a time as this. Don’t let the enemy lie to you. This is an incredible time to be living in. We are on the cusp of the most glorious days of the Church.

Physical Shifts in the Earth

What I see is the earth literally reflecting the shifts happening in the spirit. Just as the landscape of the Church and world is changing, there are shifts coming to the earth’s crust as all of creation groans for the revealing of the sons of God.

My sense as God showed me this was that these shifts in the earth’s plates and the shaking/landscape changes that result will affect areas of the earth people don’t normally expect those type of events to occur and this would be a sign of the spiritual implications of the time we’re living in.

I also see some unexpected pipelines breaking as land shifts in unexpected ways and new pipelines needing to be laid for the landscape changes. I see the topic of infrastructure coming into more headlines as these type of surprises occur.

What Should Our Response Be?

The Lord showed me two key ways we are to respond to this word.

I heard, “Shore up the foundations.”

Down below, we will talk about prayer strategy which is imperative, but it is vital that we don’t miss this first part about foundations. They are both essential.

Shoring is the practice of providing temporary support to a building, structure, trench, or excavation to prevent collapse, ensuring safety during repairs, alterations, or construction of new structures. God has been speaking to His Bride about tending to our foundations, both individually and corporately, and we are in a time when this important work can no longer be put off.

Our foundation must be found securely in Christ.

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

Isaiah prophesied this in Isaiah 28:14:

“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.”

The foundation of Jesus. Not good ideas. Not good intentions. Not our own agenda. Jesus. Nothing else will do.

We must become doers of the Word. In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus shares a parable comparing a person who is a hearer and doer of His Word, verses a person who hears His Words but does not act on them. The one who hears and acts on His Word is like a wise man who builds His house upon a firm foundation. The one who hears but does nothing with what he’s heard is like a foolish man building His house on sand. Both houses experience a great storm, but in the end the one built on the rock stands firm while the house build on sand is destroyed.

This parable refers to the logos Word of God, which is the written word of God and encompasses the principles of the kingdom that Jesus taught. But in Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, when the devil tried to get Jesus to turn a stone into bread, He replied, “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4) This is talking about rhema, which is the Greek word for words that are spoken out of the mouth in the context of relationship. It’s often the illumination of scripture in your heart or a “now word” God speaks that is meant to bring transformation and a response of purposeful alignment which often has both personal and corporate implications.

Long story short: His Word is our essential bread. And we feast not only by hearing, but by being doers of His Word. In John 4:34, Jesus said, “My food is to do the will (the purpose, desire or decree) of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.” His portion is our portion. We are being called into FULLNESS which is impossible without a purposeful response of our lives coming into alignment with His Word.

God is Restoring Apostolic & Prophetic Grace to the Church

Corporately, there is a unprecedented restoration of apostolic and prophetic functions in the Church, foundational graces necessary for the Body to come into the fullness of Christ. Much will be rearranged, torn down, and built up in the coming years to restore effective five-fold servanthood-leadership (encompassing apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists) to equip the Body of Christ to make disciples of all nations and come into the full maturity of Christ. This vital shift is both part of the shaking and the mending because change can be hard but the Church, being renewed in the design God had in mind all along, will be unstoppable.

We Must Become a People of Intercession

In terms of physical shaking, we need to pray any tectonic pressure releases in small shakings that awaken people to the unshakable Kingdom, rather than large shakes that cause potential loss of life and much suffering.

The same goes for pipeline breaks or other disturbances such as sinkholes. Let's declare protection over people and great wisdom for leaders in all levels of government, engineering, etc. to be able to effectively manage what's needed strategically for various regions.

2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

We are to pray for the salvation of the lost, for the release of kingdom laborers in every corner of the earth that every tribe and tongue would have the compelling opportunity to put their trust in Jesus.

We are to ask God for and receive a fresh baptism of fire, power and boldness to preach the Gospel with demonstration and stand out as bright lights in times of shaking. We are living in an Isaiah 60 moment and it’s time to ARISE AND SHINE.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3

Tectonic shifts may be upon us but we have the unshakable Kingdom within us. (Hebrews 12)

“Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29
